In Summary

President Ruto has pledged Sh44 billion for school transition, 10,000 acres of land allocation, Sh1.5 billion for power connections and Sh390 million for a new market in Narok County.

President William Ruto has unveiled a series of development initiatives for Narok County, promising major investments in education, land allocation, electricity, and market infrastructure aimed at transforming local livelihoods.

Speaking during a church service on Sunday, the President announced that the government would release funds to support the transition to junior and senior secondary schools before the new term begins.

“Sh44 billion for transition to schools, junior and senior secondary schools will be disbursed before students resume,” he said, highlighting education as a cornerstone for long-term growth.

Beyond education, President Ruto outlined broader plans to boost Narok’s development through targeted projects designed to improve living standards for residents.

“We plan to transform Narok through projects and development,” he said, describing a structured approach to uplift communities across the county.

Land ownership also featured prominently in the President’s remarks. He said the government had delivered title deeds linked to the Mau Forest and would allocate land to residents to resolve historical disputes.

According to the President, 10,000 acres would be distributed to Narok residents.

“The Mau Forest title deed has been delivered,” he said, adding that the allocation would provide security of tenure and enhance livelihoods in a region long affected by land conflicts.

The President further announced funding to expand electricity access in the county, with Sh1.5 billion earmarked to connect more households and public institutions.

He explained that improved electricity would not only support daily life but also boost business activity and economic growth across Narok.

In addition, President Ruto revealed that Sh390 million would be used to construct the largest market in the county.

“390 million shillings to build the largest market in Narok county,” he said, connecting the project to his administration’s goal of strengthening local trade and supporting farmers and traders.

The announcements come as part of the government’s wider agenda to roll out development projects nationwide, focusing on education reform, infrastructure, and land regularisation.

In Narok, the President framed the pledges as a deliberate effort to meet local priorities while contributing to national development goals. By ensuring that education funds are available before schools reopen, he aimed to reassure parents, teachers, and administrators about readiness and resources.

The allocation of land and issuance of title deeds carry both social and political importance, especially in areas around the Mau Forest that have experienced prolonged disputes over ownership. The President’s move signals an attempt to resolve these issues through formal documentation and redistribution.

Infrastructure projects, including electricity and market construction, are presented as key tools to unlock the county’s economic potential and improve residents’ daily lives. By highlighting concrete figures and specific projects, President Ruto conveyed that development in Narok would be visible and measurable.

Together, these pledges demonstrate the administration’s effort to deliver tangible results, positioning Narok as a focal point of a broader national transformation plan.
